The WhatsApp selling playbook for small shops
12 Jul 2026 1 min read
Most Indian shops already sell on WhatsApp — photos in a group, prices on request, payment by UPI screenshot. It works, but it doesn't scale: every order is a conversation, and every conversation is you.
The problem with photo-and-price selling
- Customers ask the same questions again and again ("price?", "available?", "delivery?")
- Prices in old chats go stale and cause arguments
- There's no catalog — a customer only buys what they happen to see
- Payment screenshots need checking, one by one
One link changes the mechanics
With a store link, the chat changes from answering questions to closing sales:
- Customer asks about a product
- You send one link — the product page, with photo, price, and a Buy button
- They browse the rest of your catalog on their own
- Payment happens at checkout — verified automatically, no screenshots
Your status update changes too. Instead of ten photos, post one: "Fresh stock in — yourstore.banaostore.com".
Three habits that compound
Pin your link everywhere. WhatsApp Business profile, Instagram bio, Google Maps listing, printed on your bill.
Send the link, not the photo. Every product photo you'd normally send — send its product page instead. The photo is on it anyway, and now so is the Buy button.
Reply to "price?" with the page. The page always shows the current price. No more stale-chat disputes.
The result
Shops that switch report the same pattern: fewer repetitive chats, more orders at odd hours (customers buy at 11pm when you're asleep), and a growing list of customers who found the rest of the catalog on their own.
Your WhatsApp game is already strong. Give it a store to point at.
